Anaida Shokrekhoda To Participate In World Hip Hop Dance Championships

12-year-old Anaida Shapoor Shokrekhoda from Muscat has been selected as part of a 9-member dance group representing Oman, to perform at the World Hip Hop Dance Championships – Varsity Division in Phoenix (Arizona, USA), from 6th to 13th August, 2022.

A student at Kings United Academy in Muscat, Anaida is the youngest in the group and has come a long way, fighting the odds, having been diagnosed and treated for Juvenile Arthritis since the tender age of a year and a half. Extremely passionate about dance, Anaida says she’s thankful to Ahura Mazda for this opportunity, adding that her mother, Naznin is her strongest support and critic. She is also grateful to her parents, siblings and her extended family for having nurtured, encouraged and always supported her.

One of the tougher dance championships, the World Hip Hop Dance Championships are also known as the ‘Olympics of Dance Competitions’. Over three thousand dancers from across 54 nations will represent their countries at these World Championships to win the world title. Here’s wishing Anaida the very best for the dance championships – may she return with a Gold for the country she considers her second home – Oman!
