IASAP Celebrates Glorious Golden Jubilee

On 15th October, 2022, the Indian Association of Secretaries and Administrative Professionals (IASAP) celebrated its fifty-year anniversary at a glittering function at a hotel in Mumbai, which was attended by a large number of its members from Mumbai HQ as also from its Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad chapters.

The function commenced with welcome a jubilee song by member Janice Braganza and her team (Vijayam Raghunathan, Shernaz Kapadia and Carmelita Fernandes), followed by an introduction of all ISASP Past Presidents since its inception in 1970. Chief Guest – Gemini Dhar, impressed the audience with her address and was presented with a floral tribute and memento. Next, was the introduction of five Governing Council Members – President – Kashmira Gamadia; Immediate Past President Edna Martis, Secretary – Vijayalaxmi Amin; Treasurer – Binaifer Daruwala, Governing Council  Members – Rashna Ardesher and Joan Lobo; followed by introduction of six Chapter Chairpersons by Past President – Zarine Commissariat.

Golden Jubilee Souvenir was released by Chief Guest Gemini Dhar, alongside Editor and Past President Moti Vazifdar and President Kashmira Gamadia, released a golden jubilee souvenir. Heartfelt tributes were paid to Founder and President Emeritus, mentor and guide, Late Homai Mehta, who passed away in 2020, via an audio-visual presentation by Joan Lobo.

The 50 Years Golden Jubilee cake was cut jointly by President and Governing Council Members. President Kashmira addressed the audience, giving due recognition to Past President – Jeroo Irani, one of the senior-most members present, completing 51 years of helpful and active IASAP membership.

Rashna Ardesher gave the vote of thanks to all for making the function a success. A short standup comedy skit was performed by Mumbai’s leading stand-up comic – Kajol Sreenivasan, who regaled the audience with much laughter and fun, even as many members received various prizes in the lucky draw. Pune Chapter’s Chairperson presented an interactive item – ‘India 50’. The gala Golden Jubilee celebration ended with dancing and dinner and a promise to continue living up to the ideals of the fabulous IASAP!
