In keeping with Parsi Times’ endeavour to promote and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship, dedicated to furthering the cause of all budding entrepreneurs in our community, we present the dynamic Oorvaksh F. Naterwala, who is at the helms of two fast-growing organisations – Ahura Security Solutions and VNO Networks Pvt. Ltd.
Born and brought up in Mumbai’s Zoroastrian Colony at Tardeo, Oorvaksh shares, “I hail from a middle-class family, with my roots firmly grounded (thanks to my parents) enabling me to follow the ‘Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta’ way of Zoroastrian life. After graduation, my passion for computers led me into doing a Diploma in Computer and Lan Engineering. My enthusiasm in traveling the world drove me learn more about the travel and airline industry, where I added to my vocation through courses at the Emirates Aviation Academy (Dubai), which helped nurture my skill-sets in people and time-management.
I started out working with a famous travel company and gradually upgraded to working with Emirates Airlines. I’m currently associated with an online travel platform, in addition to my two businesses – firstly, Ahura Security Solutions, which caters to all your security needs, including CCTV cameras and various home and office security systems; and secondly VNO Networks Pvt. Ltd., an ISP which provides seamless internet connectivity across South Mumbai and growing, to offices and residences at competitive prices.”
When asked about his entrepreneurial journey, Oorvaksh shares, “I was always intrigued with how the communications industry was evolving. The sheer joy of connecting with someone at the end of the globe via technology was something else. I initially founded ‘Ahura Broadband’ around 2005 within only my colony, ensuring excellent product and service. Soon, I was catering to clients outside and as the numbers grew I realised, for business expansion, I would need to set legalities in place. And thus was VNO Networks in 2017 – a licensed Internet Service Provider (ISP) from the Department of Telecommunication(DoT) and TRAI, India to service Mumbai. In 2016, I established Ahura Security Solutions as people increasingly felt the need to install security camera systems for their safety, at home and the workplace. There has been no looking back since.”
What is the secret of his entrepreneurial success? “For me, every project is a personal project. I own the project and ensure results are delivered as per expectations, even beyond. I’m grateful and proud that both these companies have grown organically, through word of mouth. I firmly believe in being transparent and delivering excellent customer service. My staff is my biggest strength – they have been with me for a decade now – their work ethics and a customer-centered approach has spelt great success for us!”

At VNO Networks, we have tied up with numerous local cable operators, who initially provided only cable TV services, but after partnering with us, have been able to earn a parallel income stream. Similarly, even Ahura Security Solutions has been forging partnerships to progress together,” concludes Oorvaksh.
