Mumbai’s iconic 133-year-old Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable (BJPC) School recently won two honours, one after the other, in recognition of its sustenance and vintage legacy.
The primary section of the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution (BJPC Institution), at Charni Road, won third prize (comprising a trophy, a citation and a cheque for Rs. 11 lakhs), in the ‘Private And Unaided Schools’ category, at Mumbai Division D Ward level, under the ‘My School, Beautiful School’ (‘Mazhi Shala Sundar Shala’) venture, launched as part of the Chief Minister’s Project. Maharashtra Education Minister – Deepak Kesarkar presented the award at a ceremony held at the NCPA.
In a press release issued by the school, Principals Daisy Zohrabi and Vandana Nambiar shared, “The entire campaign was divided into two phases, with phase I taking off last year. This year phase II was carried out and monitored by the concerned authorities. All the schools that took part were evaluated on three specifications namely infrastructure facilities, academic and co-curricular excellence, and the implementation of various schemes pertaining to holistic education launched by the govt of Maharashtra.”
In quick succession of this honour, EducationWorld, a renowned forum for school rankings across all boards, also honoured BJPC School by felicitating it with the ‘Vintage Legacy Co-Ed Day School Award (2024-25)’, at an awards ceremony, held on 18th October, 2024, in New Delhi. Established in 1891, the BJPC Institution, which is housed in a magnificent heritage building, ranks 18th in India, 6th in Maharashtra and 5th in Mumbai in the above-mentioned category.
