The Navsari Management Association (NMA) organized the event, on the eve of 1st March, 2025, at the Anavil Sanskar Trust (Navsari), under the J N Tata Memorial Lecture Series, featuring the launch of the Gujarati edition of Jamshedji Tata – Powerful Learnings for Corporate Success. R. Gopalakrishnan, Former Director of Tata Sons, graced this birthplace of Sir Jamsetji Tata. His visit, described as a “sentimental journey,” coincided with the 156th birth anniversary celebrations of this visionary founder of the Tata Group.
Under the leadership of Architect Shruti Shah, NMA has been instrumental in fostering knowledge-sharing initiatives and commemorating great leaders. The Gujarati edition, published by writer Keyur Kotak, aims to bring Jamsetji Tata’s inspirational story to a broader regional audience.
- Gopalakrishnan engaged the audience with insights into the Tata legacy, emphasizing Jamsetji’s values of vision, philanthropy, and nation-building. Drawing connections between history and contemporary management principles, his talk resonated deeply with the 200 attendees, including business professionals, community leaders, and Parsi families.
A highlight of the event was an address by Shri Kersi Deboo, retired VC of the National Commission for Minorities, who eloquently recounted the Tata family’s contributions to India’s progress. His reflections offered a hopeful outlook on the future generations of the Tata legacy.
A particularly moving moment for Gopalakrishnan was his visit to Jamsetji Tata’s birth house museum. The simple yet powerful setting, featuring a modest room and kitchen, stood in stark contrast to Jamsetji’s extraordinary achievements. He described the experience as “wonderfully emotional,” underscoring the importance of remembering the humble beginnings of great leaders.
The event was moderated by the NMA team, with the panel comprising R. Gopalakrishnan (Author & Corporate Advisor), Kersi Deboo (Educationist & Retired VC, NCM), Architect Shruti Shah (President, NMA), Lalit Pandya (Ex-President, NMA) and Rahul Sule (Secretary, NMA).
The launch of the Gujarati edition of Jamsetji Tata was a tribute to one of India’s greatest industrialists and a celebration of the Parsi community’s shared heritage.
