Dadar Parsi Colony’s Fareez Vasania has done the community and nation proud by clinching the gold medal in the high jump (60+ category) at the World Masters Games 2025, held from 17th to 30th May, 2025, in Taipei, the world’s premier sporting event for senior athletes.
Fareez had earlier won a silver medal in Sydney (2009) and bronze in New Zealand (2017) in the triple jump. His latest victory is a crowning moment in an already illustrious career in Masters athletics.
Representing India with grace and grit, the seasoned athlete soared past his competitors, proving that age is no barrier to excellence. “This is not just my victory, it’s for everyone who believes age can’t stop greatness,” shared Fareez, on his win.
The World Masters Games, often dubbed the ‘Olympics for Seniors’, drew thousands of international participants, but Fareez’s performance stood out as a beacon of perseverance and passion. Kudos to Fareez on this inspiring achievement!
