Strides Of Success – Taronish Irani At Mumbai Marathon

Taronish Irani blazed his way to victory at the Aamchi Mumbai Marathon, clinching the first place in the 10K category with an impressive time of 37:26. Held at the Bandra Fort Garden, on 27th April, 2025, the event drew hundreds of runners across various timed categories including the half marathon (21.097 km), 10K, and 5K.

Born and raised in Muscat, Oman, the 29-year-old athlete has been a former competitive swimmer, having started training at age three, and was placed fifth at the CBSE National Swimming Championships in 2013. When the pandemic closed pools in 2020, he pivoted to long-distance running – a transition that sparked a new passion and a string of achievements, beginning with an 11th place finish in his debut 5K at the Muscat Marathon.

Speaking to Parsi Times, Taronish shares, “All credit goes to my parents who have always supported me and trained me right from the start. Sports has been a dominant aspect in our household which has led to me being a great athlete.” Driven by a passion to spotlight Parsi athletes on the national stage, Irani continues to make his mark as a formidable contender in distance running.
