Silver Lining For Taronish Irani At District Championship

Taronish Irani has once again done the Parsi community proud by bagging silver medals in both the 5K and 10K races at the prestigious Bombay City District Athletics Association Championships, held at Priyadarshini Park on 16th and 17th June, 2025. Though only the top spot qualifies for the state-level competition, Taronish’s remarkable double podium finish affirms his standing as a serious contender in long-distance running.

Expressing his gratitude, Taronish shared, “With pride, I can finally say I’m a state-level long-distance runner. I’m thankful to everyone who’s supported me. My journey continues… one day, I hope to represent India and make the Parsi community proud.”

Just last month, Parsi Times reported Taronish’s stellar win at the Aamchi Mumbai Marathon, where he clinched first place. Born and raised in Muscat, Oman, the 29-year-old athlete began his sporting journey as a competitive swimmer, training since age three. He secured fifth place at the CBSE National Swimming Championships in 2013. The COVID-19 pandemic, which shut swimming pools worldwide, led Taronish to take up long-distance running in 2020. Since then, he has charted a rapid rise as a runner. Driven by passion, discipline and a dream to run for the country, Taronish continues to inspire with every stride!
