Excitement and festivity swept through the WZO Trust Funds’ Senior Citizens Centre in Navsari, on 1st June, 2025, as the residents and staff came together to celebrate three joyous, heartwarming occasions: the birthdays of three beloved and cherished residents.
The most remarkable milestone was the 101st birthday of the much-loved Parin Bhivandiwala, who has made the Centre her home for the past 16 years. Her radiant smile and indomitable spirit were a testament to a life well lived and deeply respected. Celebrating birthdays alongside were Baktu Jal Umrigar from Surat, who, along with her husband Jal, has become a treasured part of the Centre’s fabric; and recent resident, Mumbai’s Zarine Dinshaw Jamshedjee, who has also become a cherished resident of the Centre.
The hall was transformed into a space of colour and cheer, reflecting the joyful energy of the occasion. The highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial cutting of birthday cakes by the three birthday belles, which met with thunderous applause and a chorus of warm wishes. Music and laughter echoed through the hall as residents and staff soaked up the merriment. This was followed by a sumptuous feast.
At the heart of it all shone the Senior Centre’s shared philosophy – that growing older is not seen as life’s winter, but as its most glorious harvest, where wisdom, talent and creativity flourish. Kudos to WZO’s team which ensures that each resident lives not just with dignity but with delight!
