Young Rathestars Spark New Year Joy For 450 Parsi Families

In a heartwarming show of compassion and community spirit, Young Rathestars continued its 83-year-old tradition of supporting underprivileged Parsi /Irani Zoroastrian families. On 27th July, 2025, 450 families were welcomed at Palamkote Hall in Dadar, with dignity and warmth, and provided essential food supplies and household items to help usher in the New Year with hope and happiness.

Each family received sadras, food grains, tea, sugar, oil, toiletries, household items, linen, calendars and umbrellas. The meticulous organisation ensured that every family received their full allocation, with volunteers assisting elderly beneficiaries with care and respect. President Arnavaz Jal Mistry, Vice President Homiyar Doctor, Treasurer Yassmin Mistry, Junior Secretaries Shiraz Guard and Kashmira Khambatta, along with Committee Members, addressed the gathering, reaffirming their commitment to the welfare of the community’s less privileged members.

Speaking to Parsi Times, President Arnavaz Mistry expressed, “The happiness of giving, the ability to reach out to every individual who approaches us is truly a privilege. Every step of this process is carried out with hard work, care and precision. What makes this initiative truly special is not just the distribution of goods, but the spirit of hospitality and dignity with which it’s carried out.”

The initiative was made possible through the tireless efforts of volunteers and the unwavering support of generous donors. The smiles, blessings and gratitude of the recipients stood as a powerful reminder of what genuine service can achieve. In a world that often forgets, Young Rathestars stands firm in remembering that showing compassion, dignity and dedicated service can illuminate lives far beyond the glow of celebration.
