The Parsi community beams with pride yet again as swimming sensation Khaiz Cyrus Gheewala delivered a stellar performance at the CISCE National Swimming Championship, held from 28^th to 31^st August, 2025, in Bangalore. Representing JSS International School, Dubai, where he also serves as Sports Captain, Khaiz captured a hattrick of three gold medals and went on to claim the prestigious Individual Championship title, in the Under-19 category.

The championship drew top swimmers from ICSE schools across the country, but Khaiz stood out for his consistency, technique and composure under pressure. He powered to gold in the 200m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 400m Individual Medley, earning not only the top podium spots but also recognition as the undisputed Individual Champion in his category. His victories have secured him selection for the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), a gateway to even larger competitive arenas.

Speaking after his wins, Khaiz expressed gratitude for the support that fuelled his success: “This is the result of relentless training, the encouragement of my parents, grandparents, my coaches and the belief of my school community. I’m thankful to my Principal, Ms. Lata Nakra, and Vice Principal, Dr. S. Swamy, for their unwavering guidance. I’m excited for what’s next.”

This triumph follows a string of recent successes. At the Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatics Association (GMAAA) meet at Somaiya Sports Complex, he broke records in the 200m and 100m Breaststroke, at the Maharashtra State Swimming Time Trials (July 2025), earning podium finishes in the 200m Breaststroke, 400m IM, and 200m IM, while also contributing to gold-winning relay teams. He now prepares to represent Maharashtra at the Junior Nationals in Ahmedabad, adding yet another feather to his young but impressive cap.

The son of proud parents, Meher and Cyrus Gheewala, Khaiz now has his eyes set on the SGFI meet and beyond. Here’s wishing him the very best for his continued successes!
