The Poona Kadmi and Shahenshahi Dar-e-Meher, fondly known as ‘Komda Ni Agiary’, celebrated its magnificent 132nd salgreh, on 16th September, 2025, with devotion and community spirit. The day began with a Jashan ceremony in the morning led by the Panthaki Saheb and other devoted Mobeds, followed by an evening Machi and celebrations that brought the community together.
Though regarded as the youngest Agiary in Pune, this Dar-e-Meher was consecrated over a century ago, following the Iranian or Kadmi rituals. At the time, Pune lacked a Kadmi Agiary, prompting the city’s Zoroastrians to establish one for the Kadmi and Irani brethren.
The Agiary stands on the grounds once owned by Seth Kavasji Pestonji, who generously offered his bungalow for its construction. Khan Bahadur Sebh Padamji also contributed by donating his property for the adjoining hall, originally named Khorsedwadi. Together with the support of the Anjuman, the Agiary became a reality and has since been cherished as a spiritual haven. As the sacred fire continues to burn bright, the holy Padshah Saheb of Komda Ni Agiary remains a beacon of faith, blessing the community in Pune and Zoroastrians everywhere.
