Yeshaya Hafiz Contractor delivered an exceptional performance at the 16th Asian Shooting Championships, held in August 2025, at Shymkent, Kazakhstan, securing an Individual Bronze Medal and a Team Gold Medal in the Double Trap – Open (Senior) Women’s category.

Competing as a junior amidst seasoned shooters in the Double Trap – Open (Senior) Women’s category, Yeshaya’s achievements stand out as a remarkable display of talent and determination. She clinched the Individual Bronze Medal and powered the Indian team to a Gold Medal finish, adding to India’s impressive overall tally of 99 medals, including 50 Gold, 26 Silver and 23 Bronze, placing the nation at the top of the championship table.

This marks Yeshaya’s second international medal, following her Silver at the 2021 ISSF Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru, where she became the first junior women’s shotgun shooter from Gujarat to secure such a distinction.

Representing the Savli Taluka Rifle Association (Vadodara), the Gujarat State Rifle Association (Ahmedabad) and the National Rifle Association of India (Delhi), Yeshaya continues to shine on the international stage. A resident of Dahod, Gujarat, she is currently pursuing her first year in Liberal Arts at MIT-WPU, Pune, while training under her coach, Siddhartha Pawar. With this milestone, she has cemented her place among India’s brightest sporting prospects as a rising star in international shooting.
