Lighting The Corners Of Our Hearts
Dear Readers,
As the glow of Diwali diyas fills our homes with warmth and radiance, we are reminded of a truth deeply rooted in our own Zoroastrian faith – that light is sacred. Diwali, like our own festivals, celebrates renewal and hope – the victory of light over darkness, truth over ignorance and kindness over indifference.
This season, as we gather with family, exchange mithai and enjoy the sparkle of festivities, let us also remember those whose light shines a little dimmer this year… the elderly neighbour living alone, the family struggling financially, or those battling medical challenges. A simple phone call, a shared meal or simply a kind word can bring more radiance than any string of fairy lights ever could.
Diwali also reminds us to clear the cobwebs of resentment, forgive with grace and make space for new beginnings. Let us light lamps not only on our thresholds but within our hearts and chase away gloom, ego and indifference. As a community blessed with heritage, intellect and spirit, let’s shine our light forward together.
May this Diwali rekindle within us the eternal flame of goodness that has long defined our faith and our people. May it fill every home with peace, joy and renewed purpose. After all, the truest celebration is found when we illuminate the world, by first lighting the quiet corners of our own hearts.
Have a safe and Happy Diwali!
