Dear Readers,
‘Cyrus the Great Day’ will be celebrated on 29th October, 2025. Let us pause to honour this visionary leader, who built one of the world’s most remarkable empires and whose leadership reflected the noblest ideals of our faith. Cyrus the Great was guided by the essence of Asha – truth, righteousness and justice – values that lie at the very heart of Zoroastrianism.
He ruled with compassion and fairness, liberated the oppressed, respected all faiths and governed with wisdom, not fear. The famous ‘Cyrus Cylinder’ stands as one of history’s earliest declarations of human rights – a testament to a great ruler who saw power as a means to uplift, not dominate. As descendants of that luminous legacy, we must ask ourselves: How can we embody that greatness through our thoughts, words and deeds?
The answer, perhaps, lies in beginning with simple acts – treating all around us with dignity immaterial of their station, speaking kindly even in unfavourable circumstances and choosing honesty even when no one is watching. Be it through our words or our actions, in our personal lives or professional endeavours, we honour Cyrus the Great’s legacy each time we lead with fairness, humility and empathy.
The benevolent emperor built more than an empire – he built a legacy of trust, unity and peace… values that continue to define and inspire our community. Let us carry forward his light with purpose and pride, so that when future generations look back, they see in us the same spirit of greatness, courage, compassion and righteousness that defined Cyrus the Great.
Have a good weekend!
