SWA Hosts First All Parsees Pickleball Tournament

The Salsette Welfare Association (SWA) hosted its first-ever All Parsees Pickleball Tournament, on 19th October, 2025, at Sathaye College Grounds, Vile Parle, drawing nearly a hundred enthusiastic participants and spectators. Pickleball, the world’s fastest-growing sport, has caught on swiftly among the Parsi community for its accessibility, inclusivity and fun factor.

Participants from across Mumbai, including residents of Rustom Baug, CJ Colony, Wadia Baug and DPC joined in the action. The tournament featured over 12 categories across age groups – Under-18, Open, 35+, and 50+, with an impressive 175 matches played through the day. Despite the heat, players displayed infectious enthusiasm, showcasing skill, grit and sportsmanship.

Results of the All-Parsees Pickleball Tournament, across categories and winners, respectively, included: U-18 Singles – Sean Todiwalla; U-18 Doubles – Sean Todiwalla /Rayees Surti; Open  Singles – Arisho; Open  Doubles – Naomi and Pearl Amalsadiwala;  Open  Mixed  Doubles – Pearl Amalsadiwala / Ashdin Readymoney; Women Singles – Naomi Amalsadiwala; Women Doubles – Naomi and Pearl Amalsadiwala; 35+ Singles – Nozer Amalsadiwala; 35 + Doubles – Shahen Mistry / Farokh Surti; 35 + Mixed – Meher Amalsadiwala / Sarosh Patel; 50 + Singles – Nozer Amalsadiwala; 50 + Doubles – Anaita Gandhi / Nozer Amalsadiwala

The event’s planning team, led by Meher Amalsadiwala, credited the success to the “amazing energy and camaraderie” that defined the day. Volunteers ensured seamless coordination, while senior community members added warmth with their cheerful support. As the tournament concluded, SWA’s inaugural Pickleball event stood out as a true celebration of sports, community camaraderie and the timeless vibrant Parsi spirit.
