The excitement was palpable at Avabai Petit School (Bandra), on 28^th September, 2025, as XYZ hosted the fifth edition of its much-awaited sporting fest – ‘Indoor Mania 2025’, uniting participants from South Bombay to Thane and beyond. With Parsi Times as Media Partner, the day-long celebration of indoor sports brought together participants of all ages, turning the venue into a lively arena of excitement, skill and sportsmanship. This year’s impressive turnout of 255 participants, up from 185 earlier, included 200 spirited children, 30 parents and volunteers, and 20 enthusiastic senior citizens – fondly known at XYZ as ‘The Silvers’. Armed with table tennis rackets, carrom strikers, and Rubik’s cubes, they were ready for action.

The event opened with a warm welcome by XYZ Founder, Hoshaang Gotla, setting the tone for a thrilling day. Participants spread across arenas to compete in games like carrom, chess, Uno, and table tennis, with a new ‘Open Category’ featuring bowling, darts, and Rubik’s cube drawing much enthusiasm. Among the many events, darts emerged as a crowd favourite, with each throw drawing cheers and applause, turning every round into a gripping contest.

Several performances stood out over the course of the day. In the U-16 category, Jouyan Panthaky impressed with a clean sweep across all his events. Among the seniors, Kayaan Anklesaria displayed remarkable consistency and composure to secure multiple wins. The day’s most inspiring story came from 80-year-plus participant, Purvez Davar, who defied age to triumph in both – table tennis and carrom, showcasing the enduring power of passion and perseverance. The atmosphere remained charged with camaraderie and sportsmanship as participants encouraged each other and celebrated every victory, big or small.

Adding to the celebratory spirit, Tehmurasp’s Titans continued their winning streak by clinching the overall championship title for the fifth consecutive time, reinforcing their dominance at Indoor Mania. As winners across categories were felicitated, it was clear that the true success of Indoor Mania 2025 lay beyond medals and titles. The day celebrated the spirit of community, friendship and shared joy, reaffirming XYZ’s commitment to strengthening community bonds through sport and celebration.
