Silver Glory for Taronish Irani At Navy Marathon

30-year-old marathon champ, Taronish Irani, secured second place at the Indian Oil WNC Navy Marathon 2025, held on 23rd November. Competing against 6,803 runners, Taronish described the race as one of the most memorable experiences of his life. “Running alongside members of the Navy and armed forces was a moment of immense pride,” he shared, expressing much satisfaction in competing alongside some of the finest athletes.

This achievement adds to a strong year of victories for Taronish. Earlier 2025 victories include securing first position in events including the IIT Bombay Half Marathon (November); the Aamchi Mumbai Marathon (April); Mumbai Monsoon Marathon and the Mumbai Half Marathon (July); and second place in the Mindspace Malad (June); and Bombay City District Athletics Association Championships (June).

Born and raised in Muscat, Oman, Taronish started out as a competitive swimmer, ranking fifth at the CBSE National Swimming Championships (2013). When swimming pools shut down during the pandemic, he turned to long-distance running, beginning with the Muscat Marathon, and has since risen steadily in the sport. Bringing much pride onto the community, Taronish reinforces that passion backed by discipline can redefine personal limits, encouraging aspiring athletes to dream bigger and pursue their goals with unwavering commitment.
