Surat Parsis Celebrate Sanjan Day, Children’s Day

As part of its 80-year milestone, the Parsi Pragati Mandal (PPM) organised a memorable trip for Surat’s Zarthostis to Sanjan to mark Sanjan Day. The day holds deep emotional significance, honouring the arrival of our ancestors in India and serving as a reminder of unity, gratitude and cultural pride. The celebration included two soulful Jashans, followed by an inspiring address by Hon. Justice (Retd.) Shahrukh Kathawalla, after which all attendees enjoyed a community lunch. PPM extended heartfelt appreciation to Justice Kathawalla for sponsoring transportation for participants.

Children’s Day celebrations were held on 16th November in partnership with ZWAS and Surat Parsi Panchayat (SPP), thanks to SPP’s President, Dr. Homi Doodhwala, for providing free venue and complimentary lunch. Instead of the usual religious lecture, Er. Dr. Sarosh Keki Dastur delivered an insightful talk on Artificial Intelligence and the future of the human mind. PPM also hosted colouring, handwriting and essay-writing competitions, attracting an impressive 105 entries across age groups. All prizes were generously sponsored by Justice Kathawalla, with additional special prizes from ZWAS. Kudos to the committees of PPM, SPP and ZWAS for their tireless dedication to community unity.
