On 16th November, 2025, the Xtremely Young Zoroastrians’ (XYZ) Dadar group, Behram’s Battalion, hosted its first Winter Mela at the Dadar Parsi Colony Gymkhana grounds, creating an evening filled with festive cheer and community spirit. Volunteers began the day early, setting up stalls, arranging supplies and decorating the entrance with handmade snowmen, reindeers, Santas and snowflakes that added charm to the celebration.
The mela featured twenty-seven stalls offering festive shopping and popular food counters. Fresh tandoor, winter special Undhiyu and the evergreen chaat stall drew steady crowds. A meaningful addition was a foot massage stall run by visually impaired therapists, which won appreciative support. Children enjoyed rides, a bouncy castle, a train, tattoos, popcorn and candy floss. BB children managed six game stalls, displaying impressive teamwork and confidence.
The highlight was the Jumkha with Jingle Fashion Show, where children aged four to fifteen showcased creative Diwali-Christmas fusion outfits. The show concluded with BB President Rohaan Elavia appearing as Santa, delighting the crowd. With nearly a thousand visitors, the event strengthened community bonds and set a memorable benchmark.
Earlier on, XYZ’s Jamshed’s Giants organised a visit to Saguna Baug, Neral, for an unforgettable nature-themed experience. Fifty enthusiastic participants, including young XYZs and their parents, immersed themselves in a day brimming with learning, laughter and adventure.
The morning kicked off with an engaging agro-tour, where participants got a glimpse into farming, honeybee culture, pearl cultivation, and poultry rearing. Feeding colourful birds in the aviary and enjoying bullock-cart and horse rides added to the rural charm. The group also met the resident emus and learnt about sustainable living. Hands-on activities like Mallakhamb, dragnet fishing, pottery and boating kept the energy high. Post a delicious traditional lunch, the excitement continued with ziplining, Segway rides, dirt go-karting and archery. The day ended on a joyous note as everyone returning home with smiles, stronger bonds and a renewed love for nature.
