29th November, 2025 (Roj Sarosh, Mah Tir, YZ 1395) witnessed a dawn steeped in history and reverence, as the Navsari Bhagarsath Anjuman Atashbehram stood resplendent, welcoming its milestone glorious 100th Salgreh. The air was charged with emotion and anticipation as humdins from near and far gathered to celebrate this Red-Letter Day, the culmination of months of dedicated planning by tireless volunteers across generations.
The Atashbehram transformed into a breathtaking visual ode to devotion: vibrant chowks patterned with artistry, lush torans and floral garlands adorning the entrance, leaf buntings fluttering gently in the morning breeze, and shimmering lights embracing the garden’s trees and pathways. As the first rays of the sun kissed the sky during the serene Havan Gah Boi ceremony, the sacred fire’s eternal glow reflected in every eye – carrying a century’s worth of faith, pride and gratitude. The steady stream of devotees from across India – especially from Navsari, Mumbai, Surat and Udvada – arriving in their finest traditional attire for the occasion, was a sight to cherish.

The Hama Anjuman Jashan was led by Vada Dasturji Dastur Kaikhushru Cavasji Ravji Meherjirana (18th successor to the Meherjirana Gaadi, serving as High Priests of the Atashbehram), alongside 35 other priests, including Vada Dasturji Khurshed Dastoor of Pak Iranshah Atashbehram, Vada Dasturji Tehemton Mirza of Pak Iranshah Atashbehram, Vada Dasturji Cyrus Dastoor of Surat Atashbehram, elevating the ceremony to a truly historic spiritual moment. The Jashan ceremony ended with a collective humbandagi, after which chasni and light refreshments were served to all.
A felicitation ceremony followed, honouring those who have devotedly served the Atashbehram over the years. Shawls and floral bouquets were presented to the Vada Dasturjis, Boiwallas, Trustees, Chasniwallas and all volunteers of the centenary celebrations who served with humility and dedication behind the scenes.
The highlight of the occasion was the unveiling of a special Time Capsule, created to commemorate this historic centenary. Containing sacred ritual items (Alat), heartfelt messages, artefacts and cherished memories from past and present generations, the capsule is intended to be opened by the future custodians of the Navsari Atashbehram and Vadi Dar-e-Meher Fund. In a moment steeped in symbolism, the Vada Dasturjis, Boiwallas, Chasniwallas and volunteers carefully placed the sterilized items into the capsule, in the presence of devotees. To ensure every devotee could witness the proceedings, a large LED screen outside the Atashbehram broadcast the ceremony live.

The programme concluded on a stirring note as the entire gathering collectively sang along to the pre-recorded tracks of the Parsi anthem, ‘Chhaiye Hame Zarthosti’, followed by the National Anthem. The congregation then proceeded to Jamshed Baug to feast on an elaborate spread of veg and non-veg delicacies, offered graciously by the Trust, rounding off a day steeped in faith, tradition and blessings.
