Happy New Year!

Dear Readers,

As we welcome 2026, the Parsi community does what it does best. We take a small pause, we reflect a little, we complain a little (and then some!), we laugh a lot, and then we move forward with renewed spirit. 2025 gave us plenty to talk about… over tea, bhakras and the inevitable second helping. There were proud moments that made us smile, challenges that stretched our resilience, and stories that reminded us why belonging to a close-knit community still matters when the world outside seems determined to rush past us.

A New Year is nature’s polite way of saying, ‘Let’s start again’. It’s a fresh diary, with crisp pages and no crossed-out grudges. This is the moment to finally let go of old misunderstandings, baug politics, family tiffs and that one comment someone made years ago which somehow, still lives rent-free in our heads. Life is short, New Year treats are sweet and forgiveness is less work than running a full-time grudge management department.

Our community has long drawn its strength from a shared sense of responsibility, compassion and presence in each other’s lives. It lives in the neighbour who checks in on an aunty living alone, the uncle who offers career advice whether asked or not, and the youngster who helps with phones, forms and forgotten passwords. These everyday gestures hold us together. In the new year, let’s resolve to be more patient, more engaged, and guided a little less by judgment and a great deal more by gratitude.

As 2026 unfolds, may it bring good health, calm minds and plenty of reasons to celebrate. Let us enter the new orbit with lighter hearts, open minds and the same unmistakable Bawa warmth that defines us… After all, when we walk together, complain together and laugh together, there is very little we cannot face!

Happy New Year!
