ZTFI’s Onward Journey: Planning With Purpose, Serving With Heart

– An Expanding Vision for a Compassionate Tomorrow –

For over fifteen years, the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of India (ZTFI) has stood as a pillar of hope and support for the Parsi community, quietly transforming lives through sustained service and thoughtful intervention. Established on 19th August, 2009, ZTFI has grown into one of the community’s foremost non-profit organisations, guided by its simple yet powerful motto, ‘Community First’. Through its wide-ranging initiatives, ZTFI has consistently addressed both – material hardship and emotional need, ensuring that dignity, care and compassion remain at the heart of its work.

Spearheaded by the dynamic Yassmin Mistry and Arnavaz Jal Mistry, and backed by a committed team of volunteers, ZTFI has touched countless lives over the years. Its flagship ‘Feed-A-Family’ programme continues to be a lifeline for hundreds of underprivileged Parsi and Irani individuals and families, providing essential monthly rations that include foodgrains and daily necessities. Complementing this are Medical aid, Educational assistance, Monetary support, Senior Citizen programmes, Youth initiatives, Navjote ceremonies and carefully curated social and cultural engagements that bring joy and reassurance to beneficiaries.

ZTFI’s credibility has been reinforced through its unwavering transparency, earning the trust of donors who know precisely how their contributions are utilised. This trust proved invaluable during the pandemic years, when ZTFI rose swiftly to the challenge, providing medical reimbursements, emergency financial aid and uninterrupted ration support at a time when many community members were at their most vulnerable.

As ZTFI looks ahead to 2026, its vision expands with renewed energy and purpose. One of its foremost goals is to significantly scale up its monthly ration support, increasing providing for 50 more families, in addition to the current impressive 300 families. This expansion reflects ZTFI’s determination to ensure that no household struggles for basic sustenance.

Medical assistance will remain a core focus, with plans to support at least 50 individuals in meeting critical healthcare needs over the coming year. Equally meaningful is ZTFI’s commitment to organising more Navjote ceremonies, a deeply significant religious milestone. Recognising the financial constraints faced by some families, ZTFI has reaffirmed that any Parsi family in need of assistance to conduct a child’s Navjote will find a willing and compassionate partner in the Trust.

Responding to emerging concerns within the community, ZTFI also plans to launch a Mental Wellbeing Initiative in 2026. With increasing awareness around depression, loneliness, ageing and emotional health, this initiative seeks to offer support, guidance and reassurance to those silently struggling, particularly seniors and individuals living alone.

Building on the success of its outings and field visits, ZTFI aims to organise more community trips, with special emphasis on the elderly. These excursions will include visits to religious sites as well as leisurely picnics, offering participants companionship, fresh experiences and cherished moments of joy.

Another eagerly anticipated revival is ZTFI’s matrimonial initiative, ‘Lagan Lounge’. Designed to bring young, single Parsis together in a warm and welcoming environment, the programme reflects ZTFI’s belief in nurturing meaningful connections, stable families and, ultimately, the future of the community itself.

As ZTFI advances into the years ahead, it does so as an institution of consequence, purpose and trust. Grounded in compassion, guided by foresight and sustained by the confidence of the community it serves, ZTFI continues to play a defining role in safeguarding dignity, wellbeing and continuity. By responding decisively to today’s realities while investing thoughtfully in tomorrow’s needs, ZTFI affirms an enduring truth that lies at the heart of its mission: service, when driven by conviction and translated into action, has the power to strengthen lives, preserve values and secure the future of the community. For countless families, ZTFI remains a providential presence, widely regarded as a godsend whose timely support and unwavering care arrive when hope is most needed.
