Anaida Shokrekhoda Dances Her Way to National Glory

Fifteen-year-old teen trailblazer, Anaida Shokrekhoda, made the Parsi community proud after emerging National Champion at the Hip Hop International Championship India, held in Mumbai this January. Competing as part of the Mega Crew from DADS Dance Academy, she delivered a commanding performance that secured the top honour at one of India’s most demanding dance platforms.

This triumph marks Anaida’s second major international-level success within months. Earlier, her crew won the Ultimate Group Winner title at India’s International GrooveFest in Vietnam. With this victory, the team has earned the opportunity to represent India at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in the United States this July, marking her second time competing on the global stage.

The championship saw over 1,500 dancers and more than 100 crews compete across two intense days. The award was presented by celebrated choreographer Terence Lewis, with DADS winning by a clear margin, scoring over two points higher than the runners-up. Their routine stood out for its power, precision and seamless blend of hip hop styles.

Based in Muscat, Anaida trains with discipline and focus, heading an inspiring journey. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at age two, she was advised to slow down. With steadfast support from her family, doctors and with grit, she pushed past limitations and today trains for several hours daily in pursuit of excellence, reconfirming that courage, commitment and resilience can turn challenges into milestones!
