Surat’s Parizad Percy Palia has been awarded the degree of Doctorate of Philosophy in Biotechnology by Uka Tarsadia University, at its 13^th convocation ceremony. The degree was conferred in the presence of Chief Guest Arif Khan and Guest of Honour, Faruk G Patel. Her doctoral research, titled ‘Green Synthesized Nanoformulation of Phytochemicals for the Treatment of Cancers’, focuses on developing gentler alternatives to chemotherapy and radiation, particularly for breast and colon cancer patients.

Parizad has published 21 research papers and chapters in national and international journals and is a two-time national award recipient. She also pioneered cord blood stem cell preservation initiatives at Surat Raktadan Kendra & Research Centre. An alumna of Sir JJ School, she is the daughter of proud parents – Tehmton and Aban Patel. Her achievement stands as a moment of pride for Surat and an inspiring milestone in cancer research.
