The Zoroastrian Cricket League (ZCL) Season 6 concluded on a high note after three days of spirited competition, from 23^rd to 25^th January, 2026, at the Bawaji Cricket Ground, Surat, reaffirming sport as a powerful platform for unity within the community. The tournament featured 33 matches across day and night, tennis-ball cricket formats and drew enthusiastic participation from players and strong support from families and well-wishers.

Organised under the banner of UZFI (United Zoroastrian Federation of India), the league’s opening ceremony set a dignified tone, with Vada Dasturji Cyrus Dastur, Head Priest of Surat, attending as Guest of Honour and offering prayers, alongside Merzad Jamadar, the main sponsor and Guest of Honour, with Chief Guest – Jignesh Patil, President of Youth for Gujarat.

Zidane Warriors clinched their first-ever ZCL title, beating deserving runners-up – MJ Royals. Season 6 also celebrated outstanding individual performances. Rayoman Kasad was named Best Batsman of the Tournament (a stunning 138 off 40 balls), earning him the Maximum Sixes Award with 23 sixes. Kurush Jagirdar claimed Best Bowler honours with 12 wickets and was also adjudged Man of the Series. Kerman Kasad received the Best Fielder award for consistent excellence on the field.

Matches were live streamed on YouTube, allowing wider community engagement beyond the venue. The seamless execution of the tournament reflected the dedication of the organising committee comprising Cherag Khajotia, Firdos Katpitia, Yazad Variava, Jehan Variava, Homi Jungalwala, Khushru Kadwa and Dilshad Katpitia.
