Iran’s National Day Celebrated In Mumbai

The Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai hosted a commemorative reception on 9th February, 2026, at Jade Garden, to mark the 47th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution and Iran’s National Day. The elegant gathering brought together senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, trade representatives, cultural leaders and members of the Iranian community in India.

Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. Gawande, Chief Protocol, Ganesh Chavan, Officer on Special Duty to the Hon. Speaker of the M’tra Legislative Assembly, several Consuls General, Iqbal Munir Khan – RBL Bank-Advisor Diplomatic Relations, and Diniar Mehta, Directoor – Dini Travels, along with representatives from trade and cultural institutions and other personalities.

The evening reflected the cordial ties between Iran and India, marked by dialogue, networking and renewed commitment to cooperation. Guests expressed strong interest in Iran’s cultural heritage, artistic vibrancy and tourism potential, highlighting the country’s historic depth and hospitality.

H.E. Mr. Motlaq, Consul General of Iran in Mumbai, and Dr. Gawande underscored the longstanding civilizational links between the two nations. They emphasized the growing exchanges in art, cinema, literature and heritage as important bridges fostering mutual understanding. The Consulate reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cultural and economic engagement between the two countries, reinforcing a relationship built on respect and shared history.
