Republic Day 2026 witnessed a vibrant celebration of fitness and fellowship as XYZ hosted its much-awaited Athletic Meet at the University Stadium, supported by Co-Sponsor Godrej Industries Limited. With 184 races conducted over eight energetic hours and nearly 250 participants, the event showcased sporting passion across generations.

The meet welcomed athletes from diverse age groups, including enthusiastic Juniors aged 2 to 7 years, energetic XYZ Kids, competitive Seniors, dedicated parents and volunteers, and the inspiring Silvers aged up to 90. The day began with the National Anthem followed by Humbandagi, setting a meaningful tone before the track came alive with non-stop action.

Young athletes in the dynamic XYZ Kids category impressed spectators through lively events such as sack races, backward runs, ball balance challenges and spirited sprints. The XYZ Juniors charmed the audience with fun races like Pick-Up Toy Race, highlighting participation and much joy. Equally inspiring were the Silvers, whose determination and grit in sprint and balance events drew loud applause, especially for the 70+ participants, proving that enthusiasm for sport transcends age.

A special highlight at noon was the 1200 metre open race held to commemorate 12 years of XYZ, blending athletic excellence with a sense of legacy. As excitement grew, the Tug of War electrified the crowd, with teams displaying teamwork and resilience amid enthusiastic cheers. Outstanding performances were recognised, with Aryan Pithawalla (Cyrus’ Superstars) securing five medals and Zerxes Daruwalla (Behram’s Battalion) achieving an impressive six medal haul. The coveted title of Overall Winners was clinched by XYZ Jamshed’s Giants, whose consistent efforts stood out across categories.

The organisers extended heartfelt appreciation to the Parsi Ambulance Division for ensuring safety through dedicated medical support, with special acknowledgement for Media Partner Parsi Times for its excellent coverage. As medals were presented and smiles filled the stadium, the XYZ Athletic Meet 2026, ably supported by Co-Sponsor Godrej Industries Ltd., reflected the true spirit of Republic Day, uniting the community through sport, perseverance and shared celebration.
