On the morning of 15th March, 2026, Cusrow Baug witnessed a dynamic gathering as the World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce (WZCC) unveiled its latest initiative: ‘Community Connect’. Described by WZCC Global President, Capt. Percy Master, as a “bold new pathway,” the initiative aims to actively engage young community members and open doors to meaningful career opportunities through WZCC’s global network. Notably, nearly 60% of attendees were under 35, reflecting a strong and promising youth presence. As WZCC marks its Silver Jubilee, the focus has shifted toward a vital strategic priority: “the power of youth driving future generations.”
Mentorship and Networking
WZCC offers structured internship and mentorship programs, placing youth in prestigious firms to gain hands-on experience in specialized domains. Several prominent speakers addressed the audience to stress these opportunities. Zerick Dastur, WZCC President, India Region, said that the WZCC emblem embodied the essence of our community, “Industry with Integrity,” adding how WZCC provides a “robust repository of companies that offer internship and a chance to have one-on-one time with some of the leading industrialists and luminaries.” Xerxes Dastur, WZCC India Director (Intnl Board) spoke on the importance of entrepreneurship, especially when “AI is going to challenge traditional jobs.” Echoing his sentiments, the Mumbai Chapter Chair, Dara Patel, urged the youth: “Help Us, Help You; the youth need to take on the mantle.”
Pune’s Behnaz Nanavatti, International Youth Director, shared how her own experience with WZCC was “very encouraging and built confidence.” Delaveen Tarapore Mistry, Youth Director (India Region), shared how during Covid, many women turned “adversity into opportunity” by starting home-based businesses with WZCC support. ZYNG’s Sanaya Mehta shared preparations for the 2027 World Zoroastrian Youth Congress in Mumbai. Capt. Percy Master further highlighted that the booming Indian economy offers unparalleled opportunities, and encouraged the youth to take advantage of these resources.
The event made a lasting impact on attendees, particularly the younger members. Bezan Nanavatti, an apprentice at Constellation Marine, shared that he regularly attends WZCC events across Pune and Mumbai, noting that even the youngest members feel a strong sense of belonging and self-discovery. Shanaya Hadvaid described the experience as an opportunity to explore new avenues, connect with like-minded individuals and gain valuable insights, adding that she intends to remain actively involved with WZCC. Through initiatives like ‘Community Connect’, WZCC continues to empower its members with the guidance, values and support needed to build meaningful and enduring professional journeys.
Geared For Growth
Founded to revive the Zoroastrian ethos of entrepreneurship, WZCC has evolved from a visionary initiative in Houston into a global network with over 1,000 members across 16 chapters. Its structured ecosystem nurtures intellectual, social and economic growth through six core pillars, including Promoting Core Values, Bringing Youth to the Fore, Women’s Empowerment, Chapter Development, Empowering Entrepreneurs, and Global Communication. By connecting experienced professionals with emerging talent, WZCC fosters a culture of mentorship and enterprise. A standout initiative, the Zarathustra Entrepreneurship Development Foundation (ZEDF), in collaboration with FEZANA, has raised nearly $1 million to offer interest-free loans, enabling entrepreneurs to build and expand ventures across diverse sectors.
