Jamshedi Navroz Mubarak!

Dear Readers,

Jamshedi Navroz is a time of celebration, renewal and hope. As Parsis in India, we observe this occasion with deep gratitude for the land that welcomed our forefathers centuries ago and allowed our community to flourish in peace and dignity. India has given us the freedom to practise our faith, preserve our traditions and contribute meaningfully to society. But even as we celebrate with joy, our hearts go out to our land of our origin – we continue to hope and pray for peace, stability and harmony in Iran and across the world.

Navroz also reminds us that true Parsipanu lies in sharing our happiness with others, especially the less privileged. As we gather with family and loved ones around festive tables filled with festive treats, let’s reach out to them with kindness and compassion. A simple visit to an elderly neighbour, kind words spoken with sincerity or sharing our time and resources with those in need can light up another’s day in ways we may never fully realise. When we open our hearts to others, the joy of Navroz travels far beyond our own homes.

As we get on with our pre-Navroz practice of spring cleaning our homes to auspiciously welcome the new year, let us not forget to also cleanse our hearts and minds. Leave behind old grudges, dust away misunderstandings, wash away worries and forgive old heartaches, so that we may enter the new year with cleaner homes and calmer hearts, thus truly honouring the spirit of renewal that Navroz represents.

This special issue would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our readers, advertisers and well-wishers. Your encouragement continues to strengthen Parsi Times and has helped it blossom into the community’s favourite newsweekly, and for that we remain deeply grateful.

May the spirit of Jamshedi Navroz inspire renewed optimism, compassion and unity within our community. May our homes be filled with warmth, our hearts with gratitude and our future with hope.

Jamshedi Navroz Mubarak!
