In an inspiring display of endurance and pride, Xerxes Commissariat, President of the Zoroastrian Association of California (ZAC) and Vice President of FEZANA, along with his children Zane and Zara Commissariat, successfully completed the 26.2-mile Los Angeles Marathon on 8th March 2026.

The iconic race, one of Southern California’s most prestigious sporting events, saw participation from over 27,000 runners worldwide, winding through the vibrant streets of Los Angeles. This year’s marathon, however, proved especially challenging, with unusually high temperatures making it one of the hottest editions in the event’s history.

Undeterred by the demanding conditions, the Commissariat trio demonstrated remarkable determination and spirit, maintaining a positive outlook throughout the race. Their journey was not only a test of physical endurance but also a celebration of resilience and family bonding.

What made their achievement particularly special was the cultural significance they brought to the event. Xerxes and Zane chose to run in their sudrehs, proudly honouring our Zoroastrian heritage on an international platform. Their gesture stood as a subtle yet powerful expression of identity and faith.
