Dear Readers,
This Jamshedi Navroz, one could not help but feel a sense of joy watching our community come alive across cities, continents and time zones. From Mumbai to Hyderabad and overseas, we gathered in prayer and celebration, reconfirming the fact that while we may be few in number, our spirit remains expansive and deeply connected.
What stood out most was the shared sentiment that echoed across gatherings. Alongside the joy of renewal, there was a collective pause and a prayer for peace to return to our ancestral homeland – Iran. In many ways, this reflects the true essence of Navroz… Renewal extends beyond the individual, it is a collective aspiration for the world to realign with goodness, compassion and balance.
Closer to home, there is much to celebrate as well! Parsee Gymkhana continues to make us proud, with its remarkable and continued winning spree in cricket, culminating in a commanding victory at the MCA President’s Cup. Added to earlier triumphs at the Purshottam Shield and a strong showing at the Talim Shield, this sustained excellence speaks of discipline, teamwork and legacy. It is a reminder that our community continues to excel where it matters, with consistency and pride.
Equally heartening is the growing momentum of our institutions. The WZO Trust Funds’ mental health initiative addresses a need long left unspoken, offering support and dignity to the vulnerable, while WZCC’s latest collaboration with Jeena & Co., through the logistics endowment fund, opens doors for the next generation to build meaningful careers. Add to these the continued efforts aimed at community welfare by organisations like WAPIZ and ZTFI among others, and it becomes clear that these initiatives are steadily shaping a stronger, more secure and empowered community.
And then, in true Parsi fashion, we continue to shine in spaces that celebrate passion and heritage. The strong Parsi presence at the Oberoi Concours d’Elegance (Udaipur) reconfirmed our unmatched prowess and love for vintage automobiles, carried forward with pride onto global platforms.
You will find these stories and many more in this issue of your favrourite news-weekly Parsi Times, which continues to place community interests at its heart. In the same spirit, we are proud to media partner with the Zoroastrian Premier League, one of the community’s biggest and most anticipated sporting events of the year, celebrating youthful energy and collective passion for sport.
As we step ahead into the new year, may we continue to stand united in faith and purpose, carrying forward our shared legacy with strength, compassion and an enduring sense of community pride.
Have a good weekend!
