PT’s ‘Parsi Pulse’ brings you the voice of the community, spanning generations and reflecting diverse perspectives on matters that interest, impact and shape us. Each edition features a question opinions, preferences and diverse perspectives from community members.
As Parsi Times marks its 15th anniversary, we remember the very purpose with which it began and the journey it has since undertaken. Born out of a pressing need for unbiased and comprehensive reportage of community life, Parsi Times has been fortunate to be welcomed and embraced wholeheartedly by readers across the globe. Our growing reach stands as testimony to this trust, reaching every corner where a Zoroastrian heart beats. On this milestone, we turned to our readers to share what makes them reach for Parsi Times every Saturday morning. Their heartfelt responses reaffirm what we have always believed, that Parsi Times continues to stay true to its promise of: ‘The Truth. Delivered Weekly’.
Pashumih Ashish Desai, Advocate
“As an avid PT reader, I genuinely look forward to it every Saturday – it’s my little weekly ritual with a cup of coffee! What I enjoy the most in PT is the community news section… reading about our fellow Parsis, their achievements and everyday moments surely feels personal, heartwarming and keeps us all connected like one big family. I’d also love to see fun additions like a “Parsi Trivia” corner or even a short 5-minute read – with practical tips in various fields (like legal, health, financial, etc.) Because with Parsis, there’s always more to share – and definitely more to say!”
Kaizeen Mogal, HR professional
“I like how PT covers all the Parsi news in India as well as abroad. We are otherwise seldom in touch with what is happening with the Parsi diaspora in other countries but thanks to Parsi Times we are well updated. It’s heartening to see that our numbers are small but our achievements are spread far and wide. It’s one of the few papers with more positive news when there is so much negativity in the world right now and that’s refreshing. It would be great to see a column that could cover our traditional Parsi cuisine and recipes. It would be a nice way to connect the youth with our roots and keep our traditions alive.”
Zaver Mistry, Marketing and Communications Manager, EDF
Growing up, a sense of Parsi pride was consistently instilled in me through my grandparents’ stories and anecdotes of Parsi spirituality, philanthropy and eminence. Parsi Times has today become my weekend read for that nostalgia on slow mornings. It’s warm, engaging storytelling touches on community spirit and the new milestones that bawajis, young and old, are achieving. Pouring through this shared space where voices across generations have a meaningful platform to be heard, I especially enjoy the community features and opinion pieces – they are thoughtful, balanced, and resonate well with readers. The humour columns add a lighter touch to the insightful reading experience, with its own hint of Parsipanu. Parsi Times remains a cherished weekly ritual that keeps me informed, connected, and proud of our vibrant community!”
Hutokshi Bomanbehram, Home-maker
I do not read any newspaper except Parsi Times! My husband subscribes to mainstream newspapers but for me it’s only Parsi Times that I read every Saturday. Though I read every page, I’m especially interested in knowing about what’s happening in the community, whether it’s our youngsters in XYZ or the upcoming Agiary, Atash behram ‘Salgrehs’ or community events. I stay informed about our dearly departed and reading the Gujarati section helps keep my Gujarati reading practice going!”
Farzad Avari, AI Developer, Deputy Manager, Deloitte India
Every Saturday, I reach for Parsi Times because it perfectly bridges our rich Zoroastrian heritage with a modern, forward-thinking perspective. Living in Mumbai, I find it to be the essential pulse of our community. My favorite section is the Youth/Lifestyle segment; the writing style is refreshingly candid and conversational, making complex community issues accessible to the younger generation. It feels less like a traditional gazette and more like a weekly catch-up with the community. I’d love to see a dedicated column that explores the intersection of traditional Parsi lifestyle habits with modern physical therapy and health sciences.”
Urvaksh Cyrus Kharadi, Sr. Manager (Projects) – Sahara Dredging Ltd.
“My favourite section of the newspaper that makes me reach for the PT every Saturday is the ‘Saturday Chuckle’ in the PT Timeout section, wherein the wittiest of the captions are given based on the photographs, which never fail to make me laugh. The news and religious content provided is very informative too – I would like to see a column enlightening readers on more specific benefits of our prayers.”
Ashish Turel, Administrator – Ranina Day Nursery School
“Every Saturday I look forward to getting Parsi Times at my doorstep. Parsi Times instils a sense of connection – it brings the latest local news, community achievements, social events and sometimes crucial community specific information, making it the leading newspaper for our community. Parsi Times successfully bridges the gap between older generation and the younger generation and acts as the unifying force of the Parsi-Irani Zoroastrian community in India and across the world.”
