The Zoroastrian Premier League (ZPL), the community’s premier auction-style sporting competition, has completed three thrilling weeks of action, with the race to the playoffs tighter than ever. With Parsi Times as the Official Media Partner, amplifying the league’s spirit and connecting the excitement across the community, ZPL 2026 – which commenced on 3^rd April, 2026, at Rustom Baug Grounds, featuring 12 teams owned by prominent community members – is setting the stage for a high-octane season.

ZPL follows a two-phase format, with 12 teams competing in a round-robin league stage, after which the top six advance to knockouts. With 12 matches still remaining, the standings are extremely tight, with just three points separating fourth place from the bottom, making every upcoming match crucial to the playoff race.

At the summit of the table are Gillian Ferzandi owned, 2019 champions – ‘Byculla United’, winning six of nine matches so far. Young talents Sean Todiwalla and Aaryan Munshi have driven their success, with Sean standing out as a top performer, already scoring eight goals this season. Close on their heels is ‘Sterling FC’, led by 2022 champion Shazen Elavia, who tops the charts with nine goals and five assists, including standout performances including a hat-trick and a four-goal game. 2023 runners-up ‘Super Strikers’ are well-placed for a knockout spot, finding form with three wins in their last four games and emerging as strong contenders for a second final in three seasons. ‘Chemould Cavaliers’ have thrived on strong defence, with Rayess Surti and Jehan Patel leading a unit that has kept five clean sheets in nine games. With just one loss, they remain formidable contenders.

 With the league entering its decisive phase, all eyes now turn to the upcoming fixtures. Matches will be played between 7:30 PM and 10:00 PM every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday over this weekend and the next with the ZPL Finals played on 3^rd May, 2026.

Beyond the competition, ZPL has evolved into a vibrant community celebration, with free entry and families, music, food and electric energy filling the grounds each evening. As the league stage draws to a close, the race for the Top Six intensifies. The days ahead promise high drama and must-watch action!
