Advocate Rishad Medora has been recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointment as a Judge of the Calcutta High Court. The recommendation was made during meetings of the Collegium held on 11^th and 12^th May, 2026. The 3-member Collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and comprising Justices Vikram Nath and J.K. Maheshwari, recommended the names of nine advocates for elevation to the Bench of the Calcutta High Court.

Adv. Rishad Medora is a legal expert practising primarily before the Calcutta High Court, with extensive expertise in civil and commercial disputes. A graduate of National Law School of India University (2002), he began his legal career with Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co., Mumbai, before transitioning to litigation and academia. A trained Mediator under the Apex Court, he is widely respected for his passion for mentoring aspiring legal professionals and has served as Visiting Faculty and Guest Lecturer at several reputed institutions, including IIM Calcutta.

The appointments will come into effect after the Centre processes the Collegium’s recommendations and the warrants of appointment are issued by the President of India.
