Homavazir’s 11^th CBDA Scout Group conducted an engaging 4-day summer training camp at Bordi, from 30^th April to 3^rd May, 2026, as a prelude to its upcoming centenary celebrations. Cubs, Scouts and Scouters gathered at the J N Petit Sanatorium, with much enthusiasm.

The camp commenced with the unfurling of the Bharat Scouts and Guides flag, followed by instructions and immediate participation in camp duties. Scouts actively built signalling towers and pioneering gadgets, applying their training in practical settings. Daily routines included early morning exercises, jogging, flag hoisting, uniform inspections and room checks, reinforcing discipline and teamwork.

Mornings were packed with physically challenging activities such as rope climbing and stunt training, while afternoons focused on first aid, rescue techniques, stretcher drills, knotting and mapping skills. Quiz competitions added a competitive edge, testing their knowledge of scouting. A highlight of the camp was the Backwoodsman experience, where scouts simulated being stranded outdoors. Using minimal resources, including a raw potato and matchsticks, they constructed shelters with coconut leaves and prepared a simple meal, showcasing resilience and adaptability.

The group also visited Udvada offering prayers at Iranshah, expressing gratitude as the group approaches its milestone year. Recreational activities such as swimming and night games in complete darkness added excitement while building confidence. Evenings concluded with Kasti and Sarosh Baaj prayers, followed by the monajat ‘Jaya Zarthost’. Several scouts were recognised for their achievements, including Rohaan Elavia (Tritya Sopan, the Safety Knowledge Badge, and the Citizen’s Badge), Burjis Irani (Pratham Sopan award) and Rishad Gandhi (Pratham Sopan award and Athlete Badge).

The camp ended on a high note, leaving participants enriched with valuable life skills, stronger bonds and lasting memories as they look ahead to celebrating a proud 100-year legacy.
