Navsari’s rich architectural and cultural legacy has received a significant boost with the release of the city’s first official Coffee Table Book and Heritage Listing Report, published by the Navsari Municipal Corporation (NMC) under the guidance of INTACH. The publication, inaugurated by Union Minister C.R. Patil, is being selectively distributed to libraries and institutions across Navsari.

The ambitious project represents years of research and documentation led by the PARZOR Foundation, contributions fro m the late Marazban Giara and extensive efforts coordinated under the leadership of INTACH architect, Binita Pandya. The publication highlights Navsari’s heritage, history and cultural identity, while also serving as a valuable reference for future conservation initiatives.

The initiative forms part of a larger movement to promote heritage tourism in Navsari. Since 2025, the Gujarat Government and Gujarat Tourism have actively supported the continuation of the Navsari Heritage Walks, originally initiated in 2022 through the collaborative efforts of the PARZOR Foundation, the Parsi Cultural Division of Garda College Trust and INTACH.

The Coffee Table Book is expected to play an important role in promoting local tourism and heritage awareness across schools, colleges, hotels, restaurants and public institutions. Copies of the publication were also recently submitted to the INTACH Headquarters repository in New Delhi by Gujarat Governing Council member Ruzbeh F. Umrigar, further cementing Navsari’s growing recognition on the heritage map of India.
