New Board To Lead Zoroastrian Bank Into Centenary Year

The Zoroastrian Co-operative Bank Limited (ZCBL) has ushered in a new era with the unopposed election of its Board of Directors, for a five-year term, commencing April 2026. The new Board takes charge at a landmark moment as the Bank prepares to enter its centenary year in June 2026. In a significant development, the Bank’s Chairman and Vice Chairman were also elected unanimously, reflecting strong confidence in the institution’s future direction.

The newly elected Board comprises accomplished professionals from diverse fields including law, banking, chartered accountancy and education. The transition follows the amendment to The Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002, under which directors completing ten years on the Board were ineligible to contest further elections.

Veteran banker and legal expert, Homa D. Petit, has been elected Chairman of the Bank. Having previously served as a Director for nearly 44 years, Petit brings with him deep institutional knowledge and extensive experience in both the legal and banking sectors.

Joining him as Vice Chairman is Percy B. Chhapgar, an expert in taxation and corporate affairs, who has earlier served as Director of the Bank as well as Chairman of the Board of Management. The new Board also includes Viraf Mehta, Zubin Billimoria, Farhad Choksey, Noshir Paghdiwalla, Bakhtiyar Saklatwalla, Mehrab Irani, Maharukh Vazifdar, Dhanoo Khusrokhan and Smita Tambe.

The unopposed election of the new leadership team has been warmly welcomed by members, customers, staff and the wider community. Outgoing Chairman Yazdi B. Tantra congratulated the new Board and expressed gratitude to the Bank’s stakeholders for their continued support during his tenure. He also urged customers and members to continue supporting the institution wholeheartedly.

Backed by strong technology platforms, impressive financial stability and excellent asset quality, the Bank is poised for accelerated growth. With a CRAR of 19.97%, Gross NPA of around 0.12% and Net NPA at NIL, Zoroastrian Bank continues to reinforce its reputation as one of the community’s most trusted financial institutions.
