The historic Sethna’s 18^th West Mumbai Scout Group successfully conducted its Summer Camp from 1st to 3rd May, 2026, at a Rover’s bungalow in Karjat, bringing together Cubs, Scouts and Rovers for three days of disciplined training, teamwork and outdoor learning.

Founded in 1914 by Rustomji Edulji Sethna, the 112-year-old institution continues to uphold its legacy of shaping responsible and confident young citizens through scouting activities rooted in discipline, self-reliance and service.

The camp followed a structured timetable featuring drills, survival techniques and practical skill-building sessions. A major highlight was the First Aid training conducted by Rover Dr. Percy Bharucha, who provided hands-on guidance in trauma care and emergency response. Scouts also participated in fire-lighting sessions focused on safety and survival techniques.

Self-sufficiency formed an important part of the camp experience, with Rovers and Scouts actively managing meal preparation and kitchen responsibilities in coordinated patrol groups.

Evenings brought a lively atmosphere with baseball matches, treasure hunts and traditional campfire sessions led by Group Leader Scouter Neville Mistry. Cubs, Scouts, Rovers and Scouters showcased their talents through songs and skits, strengthening bonds of friendship and teamwork.

The camp concluded on a deeply positive note, reflecting the enduring spirit and values of one of Mumbai’s oldest scouting groups. With renewed enthusiasm and treasured memories, the young scouts returned inspired to carry forward a proud legacy into the future.
