The Vibrant Gujarat 2026 Regional Summit, themed ‘Tourism Opportunities in Tribal and Rural Areas & Wedding Tourism in Gujarat’, was held at the AURO University campus, Surat, on 1^st and 2^nd May, 2026. The summit witnessed many MoUs signed between institutions while bringing together tourism and hospitality leaders, industry experts and government consultants to discuss Gujarat’s tourism potential. A key discussion centred on the impact of prohibition on hospitality and wedding tourism, with stakeholders urging policymakers to adopt a more balanced and practical approach.

Ranjit Sinh Parmar, Vice-Chairman – Heritage Tourism Association Gujarat and Founder & CEO – Palaces Of India, highlighted Gujarat’s vast tourism potential owing to its 2,340-km coastline, stressing the need for serious deliberation on policies affecting tourism growth.

Ruzbeh Umrigar, Member – INTACH National Governing Council and Heritage Tourism Advisory Committee, observed that international wedding tourism often expects a complete hospitality experience, adding that Gujarat possesses immense cultural and natural appeal to attract global visitors.

D.J. Rama, President & CEO – Auro Hotels, concluded the summit assuring continued industry support towards developing new tourism projects.
