Surat Summit Explores New Horizons For Gujarat Tourism

The Vibrant Gujarat 2026 Regional Summit, themed ‘Tourism Opportunities in Tribal and Rural Areas & Wedding Tourism in Gujarat’, was held at the AURO University campus, Surat, on 1st and 2nd May, 2026. The summit witnessed many MoUs signed between institutions while bringing together tourism and hospitality leaders, industry experts and government consultants to discuss Gujarat’s tourism potential. A key discussion centred on the impact of prohibition on hospitality and wedding tourism, with stakeholders urging policymakers to adopt a more balanced and practical approach.

Ranjit Sinh Parmar, Vice-Chairman – Heritage Tourism Association Gujarat and Founder & CEO – Palaces Of India, highlighted Gujarat’s vast tourism potential owing to its 2,340-km coastline, stressing the need for serious deliberation on policies affecting tourism growth.

Ruzbeh Umrigar, Member – INTACH National Governing Council and Heritage Tourism Advisory Committee, observed that international wedding tourism often expects a complete hospitality experience, adding that Gujarat possesses immense cultural and natural appeal to attract global visitors.

D.J. Rama, President & CEO – Auro Hotels, concluded the summit assuring continued industry support towards developing new tourism projects.
