Sir JJ Adajan Agiary Celebrates 199th Salgreh

Surat’s historic Sir J J Adajan Agiary recently celebrated its 199th anniversary, bringing together community members in a spirit of devotion, gratitude and fellowship to celebrate two centuries of the Agiary’s service as a place of worship and spiritual solace. The occasion was marked by a Jashan ceremony conducted by the Agiary’s Panthaky – Er. Noshir Turel alongside Er. Yazdi Turel, who continue to serve the sacred institution and attend to the religious needs of the community with dedication.

Around 70 devotees participated in the celebrations, reflecting the deep affection and reverence the community continues to hold for this cherished place of worship. Following the Jashan, attendees enjoyed refreshments and spent time together in an atmosphere of warmth, friendship and goodwill.

For nearly two hundred years, the Sir JJ Adajan Agiary has served as a spiritual anchor for generations of Parsis, offering a sanctuary for prayer and reflection. As the Agiary now approaches its bicentenary milestone next year, the anniversary celebrations were a fitting tribute to its rich legacy and the enduring commitment of the community that has nurtured and sustained it for 199 remarkable years.
