Parsi legal professional Roy Colabawalla has created history by becoming the youngest President of the UK’s Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and the first person from Warwickshire to be appointed to the prestigious position. A partner and Head of Corporate at the award-winning Birmingham law firm Sydney Mitchell LLP, Roy Colabawalla succeeds Sandi Procter after serving as LTA Deputy President for three years and as an LTA Council member since 2018. He officially began his three-year term on 1^st January 2026.

His association with tennis spans over two decades, during which he has served in numerous leadership and volunteer roles. These include supporting the Cliff Richard Tennis Foundation, contributing to the LTA’s international tournament at Edgbaston Priory Club, serving on county committees and championing grassroots tennis initiatives.

Speaking about his appointment, Roy Colabawalla said his priorities would centre on continuity, inclusivity and advocacy. He aims to strengthen opportunities within tennis and padel, support volunteers, coaches and officials, and help ensure the long-term growth of the sport. Despite assuming the voluntary presidency, he will continue leading Sydney Mitchell’s Corporate team.

Widely respected for his legal expertise in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and commercial transactions, Colabawalla’s appointment marks a significant milestone in both, his professional and sporting journey, bringing pride to the global Parsi community and reflecting his longstanding commitment to leadership and service.
