Bringing immense pride to Navsari and the Parsi community, Mahafrin Shahrukh Desai has distinguished herself with an exceptional academic performance, securing three Gold Medals at the 59th Convocation of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU).
A student of B P Baria Science Institute, Navsari, managed by the S B Garda College Trust, Mahafrin completed her B.Sc. in Mathematics with an outstanding 9.77 CGPA, securing the highest CGPA in the B.Sc. Degree Examination, held in March 2026. Her stellar performance earned her three prestigious honours: the Swargasth Shri Kisanlal Ranchhoddas Kazi Memorial Medal, Shri Paramahans Yogananda Medal and Prin. N. M. Shah Medal. Her achievement was recognized by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, who personally awarded her the medals at the University’s convocation ceremony, adding a memorable milestone to her academic journey.
What makes her success even more remarkable is the fact that Mahhafrin accomplished this feat without the aid of extra tuition classes. She now plans to pursue higher studies and build a career in research, with the aim of exploring new frontiers in mathematics and contributing meaningfully to society and the nation.
Mahafrin hails from Navsari’s Tarota Bazaar area and has pursued her studies at B P Baria Science Institute. Her achievement has also drawn recognition in the local press and from her institution, which celebrated her remarkable university performance. She credits her parents, teachers, and the institution for their guidance and support, while her achievement continues to inspire young students across South Gujarat.
