Burzin Engineer Conquers Second Full Ironman In Estonia

Displaying extraordinary endurance and determination, Burzin Engineer successfully completed his second full-distance Ironman at Ironman Tallinn, Estonia 2026, battling severe weather conditions to cross the finish line in 14 hours, 19 minutes and 17 seconds. Considered among the world’s toughest one-day endurance challenges, the full Ironman comprises a gruelling 3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling leg and a 42.195 km marathon.

Burzin’s challenge began even before the starting gun, with the race delayed by an hour and fifteen minutes due to near-zero visibility. Kayaks were positioned every 100 metres to guide swimmers, as he completed the swim in 1 hour, 32 minutes and 22 seconds. After a strong start to the cycling leg, conditions deteriorated dramatically. Heavy rain, powerful crosswinds and temperatures around 9°C tested competitors across the cycling and running courses. Tallinn was reportedly under an orange weather alert, and over 350 participants recorded DNFs, or ‘Did Not Finish’.

Battling two bulging discs in his lower back and a body pushed to its limits, Burzin admitted that, for the first time, he wondered whether he would finish. His resolve, however, proved stronger. Telling himself, “I cannot quit,” he persevered through the punishing conditions to earn his second Ironman finish. Burzin expressed gratitude to the Essar Foundation (his principal sponsor) and coach Kelly Pardiwala for her guidance, preparation and support.

With another formidable Ironman conquered, Burzin now turns to recovery before setting his sights on his next challenge, proving once again that endurance begins in the body, but the finish line is ultimately conquered by the mind!
