The Parsi Food & Trade Festival under the D D Mehta Memorial Trust is back this year celebrating the 27^th chapter of its famous gala – ‘NAVROZE DHAMAKA’, celebrating the auspicious start of Spring and a bright and positive year following Jamshedi Navroz. The grand function will be held on 22^nd March, 2023, at CAMA BAUG (Khetwadi),6:00 p.m.

The celebration will begin with a Jashan in the morning performed by the priests of younger generation. The exciting evening program will commence with the ‘PARSI TRADITIONAL ATTIRE COMPETITION’ Fashion Show as well as an on-the-spot Gara competition. The Competitions are open to all communities.

For 26 years now, ‘The Parsi Food & Trade Festival’ has successfully conducted ‘NAVROZE DHAMAKA’ – a full-on Entertainment Program, which also felicitates our community’s leading personalities and achievers who have displayed exemplary and inspirational feats and accomplishments to continue and further our Parsi/Irani Zoroastrian glory. Awards are presented across 2 categories – the prestigious ‘Darabshaw Achievement Award’ is awarded to Zoroastrians who have achieved success across various fields and set an example for others to continue in their footsteps. The ‘Parsi Ratna Award’ is the highest community civilian award, conferred upon prominent members of our Community, who have made our community proud nationally and worldwide, with their professional excellence and personal fortitude.

This year the Parsi Ratna Award will be presented to Parsi greats including Vada Dasturji of Navsari, Keki Cawasji Ravji Meherjirana, Hon’ble Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman – Former Judge Supreme Court of India, New Delhi; and Padmashri Yazdi Karanjia.

The evening will then open into a fun stage of music and dance, with the popular Mehernosh Tantra of ‘HIJACKERS’, guaranteed to keep you on the dance floor for a while!

The function will be presided over by dignitaries including Shri Rahul Suresh Narwekar, Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly & BJP MLA, Colaba; His Excellency, Mr. Abolfazi Mohmammad Alikhani, Consul General of Iran, His Excellency Amanullah Sayadi, Director Cultural House, Iran; and Shri Makarand Suresh Narwekar, Corporator Bombay Municipal Corporation.

Another highlight of the evening will be the food catered by BAKHTAWAR NARIMAN DALAL – offering traditional lagan-nu-bhonu food items alongside traditional Parsi cuisine.
