The Aslaji Bhikhaji Dar-e-meher, or ‘Aslaji Agiary’ as it is fondly called by its devotees, celebrated its glorious 174th Salgreh on 31st July, 2023 (Behram Roj, Mah Asfandarmad; YZ 1392), with a Hama Anjuman Machi at 7:00am followed by a Hama Anjuman Jashan at 9:00 am, which was performed by Er. Nariman Panthaki (Panthaki of the Agiary), Er. Farhad Bagli (Asst. Panthak of the Agiary), Er. Eric Unwalla and Er. Yazad Bagli. The Jashan concluded with 2 Yatha Ahu Vairyos and 1 Ashem Vohu being chanted in unison by all who had gathered at the Agiary.
The newly renovated Agiary, which was bedecked with the traditionally beautiful floral decorations and chowk at the entrance of the Agiary and at the Kebla, was packed to capacity with devotees who attended the Jashan with devout fervour, despite it being a working day. Devotees were given Chasni comprising malido, darans, daaram, fruit, and a gift box (cake). The arrangements were done to perfection and the powerful, positive, vibrations created by the prayers ensured that it created a memorable experience for all who arrived at the Agiary, notwithstanding the seasonal thundershowers.
Since time immemorial, pak Aslaji Agiary draws devotees from all corners of Mumbai (and Navi Mumbai) in huge troves, but more so on Fridays, each week. On Meher Roj and Behram Roj of each month, the Agiary draws unparalleled crowds. A Hama Anjuman Jashan is performed in the Agiary for the benefit and the upliftment of the entire community. On Meher Roj – Meher Mahino, serpentine queues of devoted disciples, extending beyond the Agiary premises till the end of the main road, can be witnessed, patiently awaiting their turn to pay homage to the holy Fire and seek its blessings.
