Jamshed Bomanji Awarded OBE

Nuclear Medicine Consultant, Professor Jamshed Bomanji, from UCLH (University College London Hospitals), was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE), in the King’s Birthday Honours 2024 list, for his services to the NHS and to global nuclear medicine.

Professor Jamshed Bomanji was the clinical lead and Head – Clinical Service at UCLH’s Institute of Nuclear Medicine till 2023. He now works as a full-time consultant. Over the past 20 years he has developed the service into one of the largest and most modern nuclear medicine imaging and therapy services in the NHS and Europe. His main research interests include diagnostic and therapeutic application of nuclear medicine techniques in oncology, nephrology/urology, cardiology and neurology for benign and malignant disease. He has contributed to and published over 339 research and clinical papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored 20 book chapters and is the editor of Nuclear Medicine Communications.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Bomanji said in a media statement, “I’m hugely grateful for this recognition and I thank all my colleagues at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine. I couldn’t have done any of this without them.”
