On 8th October, 2016 (Ardibehest Mah, Daepdin Roj), nearly four hundred Zoroastrians gathered at Umrigar Agiary in Uran to celebrate its 112th Salgreh. The jasan ceremony was performed by Dasturjis Hoshedar and Adi Zaroliwala at 11am, followed by distribution of chasni. Darayesh Katrak thanked Marzban Wadia for entertaining the crowd with soulful songs. The function concluded after lunch with the rendition of ‘Chaiye Hame Zarthosti’ and the national anthem. The Umrigar Agiary Dadgah was built in 1904 by the heirs of the Umrigar family for the use of local Zarthosti staying in Uran. At that time, fifty families resided in this town.
