Veera Sanjana Felicitated By Lions Club Of Byculla

Educator, author and journalist, and Parsi Times’ columnist, Veera Shroff Sanjana, was felicitated in a glittering function held by the Lions Club of Byculla (LCB), for her journalistic endeavours and achievements on 6th September, 2022.

LCB was honoring educators and journalists on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the renowned scholar and second president of Independent India, Bharat Ratna recipient, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, as well as in commemoration of Teacher’s Day. The award ceremony comprised the awardees sharing a short speech, and concluded with dinner.

Having been an educator for over three decades, Veera Sanjana believes that being a teacher has been one of her most enriching and endearing career choices. Writing has also been her passion since she was a young girl, putting pen to paper and having her words waltz to their own rhythm. “It is something that springs straight from the heart. I’d say writing is a vigorous endeavor to put words to thoughts spoken in secret code by your heart,” explains Veera.

Born and raised in Mumbai, Veera graduated from Mumbai University with a scholarship for excellence in English Literature. “I like to call myself a writer of thoughts and a reader of books,” says the author of two books, ‘Endured’ – an anthology of 46 poems (2016) and ‘#LoveBytesLifeHacks’ – a unique collection of original quotes (2018).

On her felicitation, Veera said, “It was an honour and a privilege to be felicitated by Lions Club Of Byculla, amidst the distinguished attendees. The members were gracious and welcoming. I was amazed to know of the great work they do and I applaud all the humanitarian projects undertaken by LCB and its generous members. The Club truly has a keen vision towards providing services for communities to help uplift their civic, moral, cultural and social welfare.”
