Er. Dr. Jamshed A. Modi received an award for a Zarthosti hymn written by him in English, titled, ‘Dadar Hormazd’, from the Iran League at their Annual Day celebrations and prize distribution function, on 15th April, 2023. The Hymn is to be sung to the tune of the world-famous hymn – ‘Amazing Grace’, which was composed in 1779. Dr. Modi feels that if sung by our Humdeens in chorus at private and public social functions, it would have a joyous, bonding effect on singers and listeners.  Below are the lyrics of the hymn.

Dadar Hormazd eternal one,
Your love and care for me
Are what keeps me alive and well,
This truth I clearly see.

Though many dangers toils and snares
I often had to face,
I came through by your love and care
And your tremendous grace.

Oos moi oozareshva Ahura –
In me arise Oh Lord,
Jas me avangahe Mazda,
I wear the sacred cord.

And when my time on earth is up,
I will give thanks to you
For all the times you filled my cup
And gave me courage too.
